Why not let someone else pay for your course?
Do you want a change in career and turn your experience into a qualification?
If the answer is yes you might also find yourself in the position of needing some financial assistance to do just that, especially during 2020, which is turning out to be an interesting year.
Have you heard of Skills Checkpoint for Older Workers?
Through this scheme, you may be eligible to receive financial assistance from the Australian government to help pay for your qualification.
I give them a 4/10 for the name, but it's definitely a 10 out of 10 scheme and we've had a number or students take advantage of it. So why not you?
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- You must be aged between 45 to 70.
- You must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.
There are other conditions surrounding your current state of employment and\or unemployment but if you meet those two criteria it is worth applying.
So, what does it look like in practice? From my experience with students, you fill out your application and if you are eligible you pay for half of the qualification and the government will pay the other half.
When it comes to the government, you cannot get much better than that, can you?
Importantly, based on the information provided on the website, this incentive will only be available until the 31st of December 2020.
It’s not often that the government gives away money - so apply now via this link.
